On the morning of November 24th, a quadcopter with China's national flag slowly took off along with China's national anthem in Shenzhen Central Park, which kicked off the 2013 "SCC Cup" National Model Aeroplane Open titled with "SCC Dream · National Dream · Chinese Dream”.

This event attracted nearly 500 model aeroplane masters from all over the country. The players took part in the competition of 8 projects including radio remote control aerobatic flight, radio remote control fixed-wing through gantry, radio remote control helicopter mission flight, radio remote control electric glider, remote control electric fixed-wing aircraft air combat, radio remote control hand throwing glider, electric free flying and juvenile paper folding aircraft straight distance. The masters showed their skills one after another, and the audience was amazed by their superb performance.

The reporter noted that, in addition to presenting high level of professional competitions, the event set up a special exhibition area, not only introducing China's aerospace knowledge to the audience but also helping the audience understand the history and achievements of China's aerospace development more intuitively. At the same time, the rich interactive activities on the scene attracted the public, especially children and adolescents. In the flight experience area, professional flight simulators and coaxial twin propeller model aircraft control allow the audience to experience the flight on the scene; in the manual area, children were guided by volunteers to make model aeroplanes on the scene.

　　The "SCC Cup" National Model Aeroplane Open has been held in Shenzhen for eight consecutive sessions, and this year is the ninth. The event is jointly organized by SCC, Aero Sports Federation of China (ASFC), Guangdong Society of Aeronautics and astronautics (CSAA), Culture, Sports and Tourism Administration of Shenzhen Municipality etc.. It is the largest and most influential mass-based sports model airplane competition in China, and shows the current strength of aviation science and technology sports to the general public from the angle of model aeroplane exchange and competition.
