For commemorating the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Shenzhen Special Economic Zone, the 1st Shenzhen Choir Festival was officially launched on August 17. Thirteen choirs including SCC's "Choir of Sounds of Nature" participated in the final of special performance organized by the Working Committee of the Departments under the CPC Shenzhen Municipal Committee. SCC's "Choir of Sounds of Nature" was set up on July 20. It was composed of 58 female employees from the departments of the Longgang factory area who had no professional vocal music foundation and whose average age was the youngest among the teams participating in the contest. In order to quickly improve the chorus level of the Choir in a short period of time, SCC specially employed a senior music teacher to give professional training to the members of the Choir. The departments strongly supportedthe four consecutive intensive training sessions every week. The members of the Choir did all in their power. On the evening of July 20, in the final, the members of the Choir perfectly sang two songs of different styles: ShaoLing, ShaoLing, and A Folk Song to the Party. Although it was the first time that SCC's "Choir of Sounds of Nature" took part in a chorus contest, the tacit cooperation and passion of all its members won the applause of the audience, and their singing skills and strength were affirmed by the professional judges. On September 20, the "Choir of Sounds of Nature" will represent the Company to take part in the chorus contest organized by Nanshan District Federation of Trade Unions.
